Check out our Events Calendar where we notify of upcoming events. Some have limited numbers or catering requirements and so we ask you to let us know beforehand if you are coming, but others are free for you to turn up on the day. Our annual Flohmarkt is just such an event where you can support us just by attending; perhaps to enjoy a cup of coffee, cake and a chat or to indulge in some German sausages with sauerkraut!
Age is no barrier
Our club has members and regular attendees from newborn to at least 88 years young so far and all are welcome. Some events such as camps will have a target audience of a certain age group (i.e. children) but that hasn’t stopped our wonderful family and friends being part of it. Speaking German and sharing German culture across all generations is the goal!

Volunteer with us
Our events take a lot of organisation; both beforehand, on the day and afterwards. Your skills and interest in German Culture are always welcome; even if just for a short time. Volunteering with us is a great way to learn about how events are run and be part of making things happen. Volunteering opportunities include:
Flohmarkt – baking cakes! This annual fundraiser supports the events that we hold throughout the year so if you are a keen baker and want to share some of your German delicacies with the wider region, we welcome donations of fresh baked goods for our Flohmarkt in early November each year.
Events organisation – we have a small organisational team that undertake many organisational roles for the German Culture Club alongside their own day to day lives. If you would like to assist us with the preparation of any of these events – let us know!
Events on the day – setup, cook, wash up, pack up etc.. Many hands make light work and we are always grateful to those that give up their time on the day to help out and make these events fantastic. We always have a roster of many tasks and welcome anyone who is interested to sign up!
